I have over 18 years of experience as a classroom teacher, tutor and home-school service provider. I am certified in the state of California to work with students who have learning challenges, as well as those with cognitive delays, ADD, ADHD, Emotional Disturbances, Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. I hold three valid California Teaching Credentials, and a Master's Degree in Special Education. I have successfully worked with verbal, and non-verbal students. I am extremely patient, and have the ability to tailor my tutoring strategies to meet the unique needs of any student.
As a public school teacher, I have previously worked with students who are unable to attend school due to medical conditions. I have planned and implemented lessons in a variety of subjects. I have also worked with students to improve their overall study skill abilities, organization, attention to task, as well as improve in the areas of basic reading and math skills. I am available to assist students (and their parents) with organization and study skills techniques. I can also offer families suggestions on how to effectively communicate with teachers and school administrators, in order to obtain the appropriate support for their children. As a high school Special Education Teacher, I helped many students with special needs prepare for, and pass the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam). I have worked with students in pre-school, elementary, middle and high school settings.
