I am an adjunct instructor at Hartnell College where I have taught general biology, zoology, ecology, environmental science, marine biology, and human biology over the last 14 years. I emphasize learning strong study skills as well as the course material to help students do well in all of their future coursework. Biology covers a very broad range of topics including diversity of organisms, morphology, cell biology, organismal biology, heredity, evolution, ecology, and behavior of living organisms. I have taught general biology on & off at Hartnell College since 1998.

Ecology

Ecology is the broad discipline that examines the relationships between organisms and their environments. It is subdivided in various ways: by habitat (freshwater, marine, & terrestrial), by the type of organism (plants, animals), and by whether the focus is on individuals or communities. Knowledge of ecology is important when considering conservation measures. Zoology will introduce you to the amazing variety of animal life on our planet. Topics include: animal diversity, organization of animals, and how they have adapted to inhabit such a wide variety of ecological niches. I have taught zoology to the biology majors at Hartnell College since 2006.
