I believe that the education of today's youth is one of the most important aspects of our country today and for the future. I have enjoyed every part of my educational experiences, even with the struggles, and I would like to help students in every way possible to enjoy theirs too. I work well with students of all levels and ages, and I enjoy the challenges and the rewards. My rewards include helping the students set and reach their own goals.
My philosophy of education is that every student can and will be able to learn math, at any level. With extra care and attention, I can assist them with a variety of teaching methods and learning styles of the challenging math skills. I love to watch my students' eyes open when they finally learn a difficult concept. Their smiles are big rewards for me. With a solid mathematics education and a B.A. in Math from St. Olaf College, I have been teaching and tutoring students in math since 1984. I enjoy teaching those who learn quickly, however it is also interesting and challenging to help the students who struggle a bit to improve their grades and achieve their goals.
