I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in chemistry. I took chemistry, physics and math courses throughout my college years. I worked as the undergraduate researcher at UC Davis in lab. It helped me improve my lab skills and grow. It allowed me to work on projects independently. I conducted experiments, maintained equipment, and analyzed data.
I have been employed as the product development engineer. This job allows me to apply and expand my knowledge in chemistry. I supported various engineering activities for design, as well as R&D projects. I used equipment to obtain physical characterization. I also prepared reports and manufacturing process documentation.
I have experience in tutoring children ages 8-18 in high school chemistry, basic math, Algebra 1 and 2, grammar, spelling and vocabulary. I try to teach at a pace that allows the student to grasp the topic. I prefer to go over every problem in a great deal to make sure the student understands how to approach and solve the problem. I try to engage the student in problem solving process by asking the student questions on how to approach the problem step by step. In order to assure myself the student grasped the subject, I ask the student to solve the problem themselves. Before the student has an exam at school, I spend time reviewing previous topics. At the end of the tutoring section, I prefer to make an outline of what topics were covered and assign a problem for a student to solve at home. This allows the student to review in between tutoring sessions and ask questions.
