Learn Something...Experienced Math, Excel and Programming Tutor

As a tutor, or teacher of any kind, I feel it is important to connect with each student and strive to teach to their individual learning style. For elementary through high school students, I work to balance the subject material with their interests to keep them engaged and having fun while learning. For adults and professionals, I work hard at integrating real examples from business since they are generally looking for a more applied approach with real solutions.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Mathematics. I have worked in accounting, trading, and financial operations over the past 7 years with a focus on problem solving and process improvement.

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring students of all ages in various subjects including basic math, algebra, geometry, calculus and Excel. In addition, I have experience programming in C, Python, PHP and VBA, where I have written code to perform mathematical calculations, Fibonacci sequence generation and array manipulation.

Computer Programming

Having completed both a high school and college course in C, I gained a firm understanding of the foundations and logic necessary to write computer programs. From that, I have taught myself to program in VBA, VB and PHP and have written programs both as a hobby and professionally in financial operations. I have written code to calculate mathematical functions, generate Fibonacci numbers, handle position and cash reconciliation, and assist in report generation.

Macintosh

I have been using Apple products for 8 years including iMacs, Macbooks, and iPods. My experience includes administration, backups, creating dual booting systems, disk utility and the basics of the terminal.
