Credentialed elementary and high school teacher

I have been teaching for the past 20 years. I have a multiple subject credential and experience in teaching grades K-8 in the areas of mathematics, language arts, social studies, and science. In addition, I have a masters in English and am available to tutor students of all ages in the area of writing, vocabulary, spelling, reading comprehension, and mathematics. It is my belief that tutoring is an extension of classroom learning, a time that can be used to reinforce and improve upon important concepts, skills, and strengths while improving the confidence of each child.

Currently, I am teaching in a self contained third grade gate class where I enjoy the challenging pace of my energetic and motivated students. I am flexible with my hours and willing to work around the schedule of my students. I can easily help students achieve their potential by using educational strategies that prepare students in the classroom each day.

Study Skills

I have a multiple subject credential, a single subject credential in English, and a masters. I have been teaching students in grades k-12 for the past 20 years. One component of being a classroom teacher is working with students to become more adept at organizing their time and educational materials.

ESL/ESOL

I have a multiple subject credential and a BCLAD certificate from the state of California that allows me to teach students who are learning a second language. In addition, I have taught Adult Ed ESL classes in the Sacramento City District for three years.
