Welcome! I’m a certified teacher of ESL and native speaker of English. I have over 16 years of experience helping students from around the globe achieve their academic and language goals. My international experience includes 3 years of teaching EFL in Brazil, which has afforded me proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese. I studied French through secondary school, the university and one summer in Paris. As a teacher, I have a reputation for getting results in fun and interesting ways. I am quite comfortable with technology, and I get a kick out of discovering new ways to use it to enhance teaching and learning.
I am licensed to teach in public schools in the state of Maryland, and I am in the process of getting a credential in California. Though the majority of my experience is in K-12, I recently served as visiting professor in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at University of the Pacific, where I taught graduate and undergraduate students in English learner instruction. I delivered instruction in ESL reading and writing classes on the campus as well. I am adept at teaching students from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
