Good day to you!

My philosophy is that education is important for everyone, in that it opens up a more exciting, and fun life for there is more to see, and gives students a greater confidence in having a greater understanding of the world around them. I believe in nurturing the skill of learning how to learn, for that will open up the opportunity to learn all through life out of the classroom as well as in the classroom. Life-long learning was goal of the junior college I attended in Pittsburg, CA: Los Medanos Jr. College, where I got my A.A. on the education track and encouraged me to go on to get my B.A. at California State University, East Bay in Contra Costa Couty where I was a very successful substitute teacher, and that encouraged me to take one year in the Masters in Teacher's Education at University of Phoenix in San Francisco. Education is a gateway to the world of imagination. Education improves communication by way of having greater understanding, and will bring students greater success in life.

My tutoring method begins with the student's learning material, and using the book assigned in class, I inquire and draw out the student's thought process about the classroom material. Together the student and I work on building understanding about the concepts he or she needs to learn. Once there is an understanding about the material, there is time for practice, progressing into having the student teach the tutor, then together we set up a study timeline for after the tutoring session where the student can practice on his or her own to help the material become a part of the student's total understanding.
