I became a math major because I couldn't imagine school without doing mathematics. I've worked with students who feel exactly the opposite: they can't imagine enjoying school when "doing" mathematics is part of the equation. In my years of teaching and tutoring, I have found that many students who just didn't "get math," achieved understanding in a one-on-one setting. Freed from distractions and peer influence, they start to "get math," they grow in confidence, and mathematics (especially Algebra and beyond) becomes something they appreciate rather than loathe.
If you're one of those students or a parent of one, let me partner with you to achieve understanding and success in mathematics.
