I absolutely love teaching Chemistry and I will happily tutor students in Chemistry, Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry. I have been a full time Chemistry teacher for 26 years. I have also taught conceptual Physics each of those 26 years. I am enthusiastic in my field and I can make the problems readily understandable and bring everyday examples for chemistry to help you learn it in an effective manner.

Primarily, I will provide you with specific methods to help you to determine what the questions are asking and how to systematically solve those problems. I will teach you how to use dimensional analysis to systemically derive the answers to difficult chemistry word problems. Overall, I will provide encouragement and a positive learning environment to maximize student learning of the concepts.

Study Skills

I am constantly implementing a variety of study skills in my daily classroom lessons. I teach students how to read through questions on a test to obtain the meaning before they choose an answer. I show students the value of making and learning flash cards to help them learn polyatomic ions. Additionally, I encourage small group and teamwork in the classroom to help students learn from one another.

Microsoft Outlook

Students who I tutor can learn how to use the Microsoft Outlook program from me so that they can easily communicate with others. I am proficient in using Microsoft Outlook and can easily show students the benefits to this program. Students will learn how to attach documents to the email, how to use the voting buttons, and how to use the daily calendar to help them keep track of various events. Spelling

Students whom I tutor will benefit from my knowledge of proper usage of spelling when writing essays and term papers. Students can give me their papers to proofread, and I will be able to easily provide them with a review of their papers in order to help them edit their work.
