Patiently proficient in Math, Science and English

Hello,

As seen by my title, my strengths lie in mathematics, sciences and language arts at any level. I recently graduated from UC Riverside with my Master's degree in Bioengineering in 2012. I had my main teaching experience as an undergraduate at UC Riverside through the Bioengineering program through a volunteer Teaching Assistant position. In addition, throughout high school, I was part of the school's community service group which focused on tutoring elementary school children English in the predominantly Spanish speaking areas.

In addition, I have personally been through both SAT and MCAT prep courses, so I know that teaching style well. I have experience with online and in person sessions, though I prefer in person tutoring.

My style of tutoring is to have dynamic conversations and dialogues with the student, as well as targeting trouble areas and helping the student work through them. I believe that small quizzes emphasize the learning process, and to set the pace to the student.

Piano

I have the 10th level for the Piano Certificate of Merit by the Music Teachers' Association of California.

Voice (Music)

I have been a part of school choirs that have competed and won in regional settings. I have also a background in piano which is helpful in learning to tune the voice and ear. In college, I was part of one of two mixed choirs during my first year and am well versed in the Alto, Mezzo Alto and Soprano vocal distinctions.
