Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile. I would like to share with you why I believe I would be a quality choice to tutor your child.
*Education
I have obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychobiology, a master's degree in Counseling, an Ed.S degree in School Psychology and am in the process of completing my doctorate in School Psychology.
*Experience:
I have worked in the field of education over the last five years. I have served as a substitute teacher, a researcher for the University of California, Riverside, in the area of finding efficient ways to help struggling students, an AVID tutor in the high school setting, a school psychologist, a student services coordinator for students who are struggling, and as an adjunct instructor/professor for teachers at La Sierra University.
I have worked with students with learning disabilities, Asperger's disorder, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD among a variety of other issues. My wide range of experiences has allowed me to effectively hone in on where a student is struggling and figure ways to solve these issues. As a school psychologist, my job has been to discover what the cause is of student difficulties with regards to learning and to offer solutions to teachers, parents, and other faculty.
* Philosophy:
I believe that every child has the potential to learn and that often times this potential is not being honed in the way it should be. It is important to be thorough in order to learn about what modalities a student best learns from in order to maximize their potential.
Thank you again. I hope I have sparked your interest!
