I have been fortunate to mentor all ages in a variety of subjects. I tactfully use guided discovery methods, along with creative re-design of subject materials. I engage the student in the design of materials, then have them present them to me as a project. I am a very visual learner, myself, and incorporate sensory skill sets into sessions. I begin to build on the student's experiences, as appropriate, and their basic understanding of subjects.
I feel I am very patient and persuasive, by modeling the behavior I want to see in students.
My oral presentations are specific to the needs of the student, however, they are more like conversations, than a formal lecture. I check for understanding, and sequence the information, at a level they can grasp.
I have developed skill in identifying personality types and their learning needs.I have been a contract trainer in this subject for over 15 years.
