Well, hello there! My name is Somuadina. My name may seem a little hard to pronounce, but it's really not. It's pronounced Suh-muh-dee-nuh. Don't let it scare you. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Public Health and I am very interested in tutoring students who may possibly need my help. For the past 6 years, I have been mentoring and tutoring at Longfellow Middle School in Berkeley, CA and Berkeley High School in a number of different subjects. My focus now is in the elementary subjects for I know that is where I am most experienced in helping students. I am a fun, witty, energetic young lady who has always found joy in helping other students reach their academic goals. My method of tutoring ranges depending on the needs of the student. However, my PRIORITY will always be to make sure that the student understands the material at hand, focusing on conceptual knowledge and understanding. I like to use outside resources to give the student as much practice problems such as using educational apps on my ipad, providing practice problems, scenarios, etc, or using visual aids to help the student understand the concepts. At the end of the day, my goal is to help the student reach their goals the best way I know how and I am willing to adapt to any situation to make sure that this is done most efficiently.
