Hello! I am an educator who is passionate about equipping today's youth with the tools and resources they need to attain their life goals. I obtained a Master's in Education, as well as my Teaching Credential, from Stanford University (through the Stanford Teacher Education Program). I obtained a Bachelor's of Science from UCLA (majoring in Psychobiology, minoring in Education Studies).
Over the past 5 years, I have been teaching high school science. I have experienced years of Professional Development around how to make learning accessible and rigorous for young people. I have worked countless hours with young people, both one-on-one and in groups, to support comprehension and academic success. To me, it is important that I guide and support young people in their learning, but also push and challenge students to take ownership and take risks in their own learning. I thrive in making connections with young people, and in making their learning experiences meaningful and relevant.
I have also worked as an advisor for 4 years, for a cohort of students throughout their high school career. I supported my advisees in getting ready for college - from the college research process, to college applications, scholarships, and financial aid. When I was at UCLA, I worked for UCLA Admissions and Relations with Schools - I am very knowledgeable about the college process, and can help your student navigate this process as well!
