I am an astrophysicist who worked for NASA (at Caltech) for 11 years. The mission I supported ended, so I now have some time to help tutor. I have always enjoyed working with students and have tutored in the past in science, English, and math from elementary through college levels. I was the valedictorian of my high school class (of 460 students) and I have a PhD in physics with a minor in astronomy.

I am now an adjunct professor of physics at El Camino College.

I am also a semi-professional violinist, performing quite frequently for the public and at weddings, etc. I have taught and coached string players.

Astronomy

I have worked as a professional research astronomer for over 20 years. I have taught astronomy at the college level and have given many talks about astronomy as well as leading night-time observing sessions.

Violin

I am a semi-professional violinist. I have performed numerous times for weddings, concerts, and other events. I have been playing the violin for 36 years, and have played classical, folk, and rock, but my training is classical. I play chamber music regularly (mainly string quartets). I took violin lessons at the Peabody Conservatory of Music when I was in college. I have experience teaching beginning and intermediate violin and viola students.
