NOTE: I am currently starting a new quarter at my university, and my schedule has changed. I will be giving my current students priority on my time slots for the next couple of months, and will then give any remaining time to new students in the order I receive requests. Thank you for your patience as I sort my new schedule out!

Hi! My name is Lydia, and I graduated from California Lutheran University in May 2011 with my B.S. in Mathematics with University Honors, cum laude. I have four semesters' experience tutoring in a college setting (our Math Lab) from intermediate algebra to calculus II, along with some private tutoring on the side before starting my work through WyzAnt. I am currently attending California State University San Bernardino to earn my teaching credential for secondary mathematics, and am student teaching for two Algebra Readiness classes at Terrace Hills Middle School.
I was told by many of my students in the Math Lab that I should become a teacher before they realized that is exactly what I want to do with my life. I also held the position of Math Lab Coordinator for one year my senior year. I would love to meet you and would value the opportunity to tutor you or your child(ren) - both for my personal experience (I find that the more students I tutor, the more ideas I get for when I am a teacher as opposed to just a tutor) and for you.
I hear from so many students something along the lines of "I was good at math [or I loved math, or I could pass math], but then I had this one terrible teacher, and it was all downhill from there." I want to be a teacher that is the opposite. I want to inspire my students to appreciate the beauty I see in mathematics, and if I can't manage that, then I want them to be competent enough to pass any test they might need to take so that they never have to see it again. (Well, as blatantly as you see it in school - you can't get away from it forever!) I can't wait to hear from you!
