"The concertmaster, Kan Wang, handled her difficult solos with disarming ease."

---By Mark SwedMusic Critic, October 23, 2008 LA Times.

I am a professional violinist and pianist. I have 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught numerous students in my home studio as well as 2 public music studios. I teach all skill levels and age groups, ranging from children to adults. I am very patient with children as well as the elderly. I would like to share my musical passion with someone who wishes to learn music.

Corporate Training:

I came from China and Mandarin is my first language. I can speak both English and Mandarin fluently and understand Cantonese well. I worked as a editor in China for many years and won the first price of China Solicit Essays in 2004. I gave many lectures in universities in China for 2 years. I have strong ability to read and write Mandarin speedily and fluently. I am capable to express and write ideas clearly and logically in Chinese. I had taught many international students Chinese in China before I came to US including private lessons and group classes. I would like to share my ability to my students and make everyone become enthusiastic with studying Chinese!

Being a professional pianist, I graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and I met excellent teachers there. From them, I learned how to be a good teacher. I have 15 years of teaching experience. My teaching philosophy, never be extreme teacher which means never focus on technique or interests only. Interests are really important to the student, and a teacher should always be able to make the students keep their interests. However, giving the students wonderful technique is also important. I always try to balance between these two essential elements!
Also, I would like to encourage the students attend more performances to promote the interest. This is another important thing to do with students!
I use many types of traditional books such as: Czerny, Beyer, Hanon, or popular books like Alfred, Bastien or Music Wonderland. There are so many books for students, it really depends on the different person.
Hope everyone would enjoy music with not boring practice!

I am a professional violinist, acclaimed by the LA Times, and served as concertmaster in various orchestras. In addition, I have 15 year of teaching experience.
