University of San Diego (Biochemistry)
I am a scientist with an American Chemical Society-certified Biochemistry degree from the University of San Diego. I have kept almost all of my textbooks for my various classes for further perusal and referencing for both myself and any of my tutees.
I have tutored my peers, and students on WyzAnt before, and pride myself on finding ways to explain the complex problems to them in a way that can be understood.
Though I am trained to be a scientist, I also have a vast and abiding love for theology and literature, and score phenomenally high marks in both of those fields. I have been praised for the professionalism that is prevalent in my writing, and can help anyone with proofreading, essay-building and brainstorming for writing projects. I attended Catholic School for almost all of my learning career, and as such, have been exposed to almost all levels of theology, and can easily explain the basics and some of the more complex ideas of the major world religions.
I enjoy teaching in a relaxed, conversational way, where a large amount of information is presented in small "chunks" that are easy to understand, using knowledge like building blocks to construct a solid base for the student to stand on and continue working. I very much like being friendly with those that I tutor, and always try and ensure that the tutoring is as comfortable as possible while being as fruitful as possible.

Even though De wasn't feeling well yesterday, she knew my son had a Chemistry test so she tutored him remotely using skype. My son was ready and confident for his test today.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a ACS-certified biochemist, recently graduated from USD. I am capable of tutoring anyone with difficulties in general chemistry at the university level or below, and can be of some assistance for upper-division chemistry material, depending on where your problem lies.
I've been using Microsoft Word to format and write papers, essays, short stories and lab reports. I am not only comfortable with using all of the aspects of the program, but I can also teach others the basics, along with the advanced aspects of this program. I've taught basic computer knowledge to a number of my associates, and can easily and would be happy to teach anyone about the program.
