I graduated high school in 2010, and I am currently attending Diablo Valley College. I plan to transfer to UC Davis next fall to double major in Anthropology and Environmental Science. I have a passion for learning. Learning is not just taking in information, it is the blissful feeling of success you feel once you have achieved your goal. I have tutored high school students in Algebra 1 and Geometry, and I have also been a volunteer tutor for French and English. I worked as DVC's Anthropology tutor for a semester. I took AP and Honors English in high school as well as Honors French (French 5) and Honors Chemistry. I scored an 1850 on my SAT and I scored a 4 on both my English and Environmental Science AP tests.
I have been playing piano since I was 6 years old, and I was very involved in my high school Drama Department as well as the Track and Field team. Helping others reach their goals is MY goal! I care a lot about my community- I was on the Pleasant Hill Teen Council for 5 years (one of which I actually served on the Park and Rec Board of Directors)and I spend a lot of time volunteering around the community at places like the local library. I believe that a strong and happy community is made up of people who care about themselves and others. I try to incorporate this into my tutoring method by not only making sure the student learns the material but also trying to inspire a love for the subject and learning in general. When someone is passionate about learning, it is easy to encourage them to spread their enthusiasm!
