My name is Lesley, and this is me miniature golfing in Seattle, WA. with my nephew. Although I am relatively new to WyzAnt, I have been tutoring both privately and at the Petaluma SRJC for 15 years. These opportunities have given me the chance to work with students of all ages. Many have had a debilitating fear of math, which I can personally relate to. As a high school and college student, mathematics was always my worst subject. So when my first son was a year old, I went back to school after getting my degree to see if I could conquer it and discovered that I was good at it. As someone who suffers from ADD and dyslexia, I look for ways to adapt to a student's individual learning style and try to break things down so that the concept is not overwhelming.
I range in math from pre-algebra to the first course of calculus. Some of my specialties are (but not limited to) factoring, fractions, synthetic division, matrices by hand, graphing various functions, logarithms, trigonometric identities and mixture problems.
When I'm not tutoring math, I work as a pantry chef, spend time with my 2 boys (18 & 23), read, watch old movies and SLEEP!
