I have over 20 years of experience as a teacher and a tutor. I am certified to teach Montessori curriculum and hold three California Teaching Credentials, Education Specialist (Special Education), Multiple Subjects, and Single Subject: English. I also hold a Masters Degree in Teaching Reading. Currently, I am teaching sixth grade. I have a very broad knowledge of most subjects taught from kindergarten through high school. I have an extensive background in working with students who are challenged with organization and who have unique learning needs. I've worked with students with ASD, PDD-NOS, ED, ADD, ADHD, and dyslexia just to name a few. I have both a Multiple Subject and Special Education Credential. I have been working in the field of education for over 20 years as a teacher and a tutor. I also hold a Masters Degree in Teaching Reading. I can assist just about any student in any subject from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade.

General Computer

I am well versed in both Macs and PCs. I have used Microsoft Office and am familiar with iLife and i Work. I have a strong understanding of social networking sites and can guide people with efficient methods of using them to boost their connections and develop their business connections. I have tutored teachers on how to used Keynote and Powerpoint for classroom projects and presentations. I have tutored adults on how to use Word and Pages efficiently.

Phonics

I have an extensive background working in Early Childhood Education and have my Multiple Subject Credential. I have just completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching Reading. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years and the primary subject I address is the acquisition of effective and efficient study skills. I typically assess how the student is currently studying and then address ways in which the student can improve. I try to find the methods that connect best with the way that they learn. For example: If the student is an active learner I might have them include movement or something kinesthetic in their study process.
