I have worked with all grade levels, K-12, primarily teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade with a diverse population of students. I have experience developing and implementing weekly lesson plans for all academic subjects, which not only have been aligned with CA and Archdiocesan standards, but can be modified to meet various student needs. Student achievement is assessed through weekly tests, informal observations, report cards, progress reports, portfolios, and standardized testing. I have also participated in professional development workshops and am involved in the STEP program, which benefits academically challenged students.
I am confident that I can offer you many positive qualities as a teacher. I am passionate about my career and totally committed to my students. Besides having a strong work ethic, I’m also very creative, energetic, and well-organized. I have always succeeded in creating a fun and comfortable classroom environment, while instilling an enthusiasm for learning. My students are motivated, hard-working and responsible. I always push them to try their best. I have a good rapport with the children and parents, as well as excellent classroom management skills. Discipline and structure are very important to me, which the kids respond well to. Not only do I care about my students on an academic and personal level, but I always strive to make my lessons more understandable and enjoyable, yet challenging at the same time.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been teaching for over 10 years, primarily grades 2nd-5th. I hold a multiple subject credential through the state of CA. I have a lot of experience working with younger children, not only in a classroom setting, but doing individual/small group tutoring as well. I enjoy all of the academic subjects.
