As a freelance designer, I found it necessary to continue with balance in my life. I sought out opportunities to engage in my other passion - playing and coaching sports. Quite by accident, I "fell into" teaching P.E. and coaching various teams at the elementary, middle and high school levels, while being able to continue freelancing as a graphic designer. The two areas complimented each other in many ways - including the creation of unique team photo packages, designing uniforms, team logos and slogans. I love what I do, and YOU will too.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe InDesign

In addition to teaching numerous high school classes how to use InDesign for producing their yearbooks, I continue to utilize it (and the other components of the Adobe CS3 Design Suite) in my freelance endeavors.

Adobe Photoshop

In addition to teaching numerous high school classes how to use PhotoShop for correcting and enhancing photos for printing in their yearbooks, I continue to utilize it (and the other components of the Adobe CS3 Design Suite) in my freelance endeavors.

Basketball

In addition to playing basketball most of my life-including college--(let's just say I'm somewhere over 40 now), I have coached many teams from the elementary level on up through high school varsity athletics.

Desktop Publishing

In addition to teaching numerous high school classes how to use PageMaker, InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator for creating unique yearbook pages, I continue to utilize these programs daily in my freelance endeavors.

Drawing

I hold a BA in two-dimensional media, which included extensive training in perspective, texture, technical and quick sketch drawing.

Fitness

As a physical education teacher, my specialty is conditioning and individual skill development for elementary and middle school students. As a coach for basketball, tennis, soccer and volleyball, it is my responsibility to see that the athletes are physically prepared. An appropriate fitness level for their individual sport is a requirement for success.

Photography

For the past 30+ years, I have been shooting both professionally and as a hobby. My extensive portfolio includes wedding photography, portraiture, nature and sports assignments.

Soccer

In addition to playing soccer most of my life-including college--(let's just say I'm somewhere over 40 now), I have extensive and ongoing experience coaching a variety of teams from the elementary level up through high school varsity athletics. I specialize in Goal Keeper skills and training.

Tennis

I have an NTRP rating of 4.5. I am a member of and participate in league play for the USTA and team tennis for LATA. In addition to playing for most of my adult life, I have extensive experience coaching numerous tennis teams from middle school through high school varsity athletics.
