I'm a former tenured Community College Professor with M.A. degree in Math from UCLA. I love working with students and have experience teaching classes from pre-Algebra to Advanced Engineering Mathematics. I moved to Los Angeles last year and have been tutoring while working on a degree in community work and community based documentary film.
Here are some testimonials from students of mine:
“I love this teacher. He’s funny and interesting, which doesn’t usually happen with a math teacher. I’m learning a lot.”
“I appreciate the way he teaches and I feel fortunate to have landed in his class—the main reason is that he doesn’t leave any student behind. His teaching covers all modes of learning.”
“He is very patient and helpful with questions. Even when an answer is obvious, he doesn’t make the student uncomfortable and tries to explain the answer in simpler terms. He always comes in with a positive attitude.”
“He is honestly the best math teacher I ever had, thorough, good attitude, cares about our progress, approachable and available.”
I tutor in the Pasadena area and am available for in-home tutoring or meeting up at a local library or coffee shop. Feel free to contact me to set something up that works for you.
