I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2011 with a BA in psychology and a minor in environmental social sciences. I am currently pursuing a master's of science in environmental science at Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
I most recently worked as a tutor with a college program that prepares high school seniors and college freshmen for police academies. I predominantly worked with students on their writing and English comprehension skills.
In addition, I taught English at a language academy in South Korea for one year and have over 1000 hours of in classroom teaching experience. I worked with children of varying ages from 4-17. I understand some of the challenges that children from different age groups can present and have experience dealing with these.
I also tutored privately while abroad, so, in addition to my current job as a tutor, I have extensive experience working with students one on one and in smaller groups. I have seen my students' abilities and understanding improve and believe strongly that individual attention in tutoring is extremely valuable.
I have spent time as a volunteer basketball coach for middle school boys in the Redondo Beach Youth Basketball league as well.
Most of all, I enjoy teaching, and I believe this enjoyment allows me to be a patient and dedicated tutor.
