Hi, All!
My name is Rachel, and I am a graduate of Boston University (Go Terriers!). My B.A. in International Relations and minor in Journalism have provided me with a high understanding of social studies and English, and I am positive I can help anyone improve their performance in those areas. I also possess a solid understanding of algebra and geometry.
I spent the past year as a substitute teacher, helping educators uphold the high standards set by the New York State Department of Education. The single most important thing I learned from this experience is the fact that each student has a unique thought process when it comes to learning. I pride myself in being able to pick up on the nuances of each student's learning style, and tailor lesson plans to maximize individual success. One of the greatest feelings in the world is accomplishment, and it brings me much joy knowing that I helped a student share in that revelry.
I have experience interacting with students of all ages (K-12). I also danced for 18 years (ballet, tap, jazz. lyrical and modern styles), so if nailing that pirouette is your goal, I am your girl!
Please don't hesitate to ask for references! I look forward to hearing from you.
