I am an experienced teacher with a degree in education and certification to teach English as a second language. I have worked in a wide range of settings with students of all ages and backgrounds. Some highlights include teaching high school students with learning and developmental disabilities and, most recently, teaching English to adults while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Teaching and Tutoring is about communication. It is about expressing information in a way that can be understood by each individual student. I always spend time getting to know my students interests and learning styles so that I can help them engage with the material. I encourage students to set goals and then I work with them to meet those goals.
I believe if I'm doing my job well my students will not only have measurable improvement (tests, grades, etc.) but they will develop their motivation to learn for learning's sake.
