Within a couple of sessions of tutoring with Sy my son's grade and understanding of the subject (pre-calculus) greatly improved. His teacher was pleasantly surprised by the change.
Our confidence with Sy increased and he has tutored Physics and Algebra 2 as well - with the same positive results. Sy comes on time, is flexible and very personable. When I lost all hope of finding a tutor to assist me in a very difficult on line mapping class, Sy came to the rescue. he was patient, persistent, and gave me the confidence to tackle this class and in turn, I passed the class and received my college diploma. It is a blessing for me to find Sy as a tutor for my daughter. At first I was very skeptical about having a stranger into my own home. I quickly felt at peace about that and Sy becomes our friend now. We actually kinda missed him if he didn't come every week. He is a great listener and his wisdom is admirable. We had 12 hours total with Sy so far but during this short time, my daughter feels very comfortable with him and understands his way of teaching and that's the key importance. He is also very understanding and shockingly generous. I only feel so much gratitude toward Sy and I hope that he will be our tutor forever. We see him like a friend more than a tutor. We learn a lot from him. He is pretty funny and strong. Sy is the very first tutor we've known who doesn't seem to put too much emphasis on how much money he would earn from us, which I think is rare and almost unbelievable in this kind of economy. He never looked at his watch or carried his cell phone while he was teaching my daughter. I always had to remind him of the time and rushed him out of my house. We would go on talking to Sy forever about non-Math related stuff which wasn't very productive but we've always gained a lesson after our conversations. Sometimes we've even bothered Sy with our emotional issues. All in all, I'm so thankful and I wish Sy all the best in life.

Let me tell you it was the best decision I made. My son was having hard time with calculus. Sy is very good in what he does. He is very professional, friendly and always on time. He would not penny pinch the time. After few lessons my son is doing alot better and showing interest in the subject. Infact I ended up buying a $1000 credit today from Wyzant. I came to Sy, one week prior to taking the Vocational Aptitude Test for the military (AZVAB). Upon arriving, I was strongly deficient in mechanics (physics), automotive/shop, and electrical theory and all my practice tests supported this. Upon completion of my Aptitude Test, I learned that there was not a job that I did not qualify for within my military branch. Those jobs would include highly intensive mechanical and electrical jobs. Sy genuinely wants the student to understand the material and will not conclude until that is completed. I am so happy that I met Sy.

After a few hours with Sy, I returned home to work on my programming assignments... and they were a piece of cake.
