Learning better English skills should be fun! There are many easy concepts that can help you become a better speaker, writer and master of the English Language. I will develop a program which will focus DIRECTLY on your needs, so that we can improve your English skills more quickly. You are the star of our sessions - I want to make you shine!
I am a graduate of the MA-TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Program at San Jose State University. My undergraduate degree is in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin. I am a native English speaker and I have been a parent and teaching volunteer for the past 15 years. I have been teaching college writing courses and tutoring ESL for the past two years.
What to expect at the first lesson: We will make a short recording of your speech, so that we can focus on the accent and grammar skills you would like to work on. Next, we will assess your needs in the areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Then, we will talk about your goals for English Language use. What type of vocabulary do you want to learn first? Where will you be using your English? How much time would you like to spend learning English? From this first meeting, I will develop a program which is tuned directly to your needs.
