I am a music teacher and performer, and have been performing and singing since I was 2 years old! I am also an environmentalist. I try not to use the car too much, and always recycle! I also love to go hiking, birdwatching and biking around town. I sing in church, at farmer's markets, concerts, and perform as a freelance soloist. I sing Renaissance and Celtic music in a few bands locally.
My first solo I remember was in school singing Mozart in 8th grade in a at state and solo ensemble competition in Michigan. My junior high choir received top scores! In college I continued singing and performing and came to California to go to Stanford to get my Master's in Voice Performance. Since then I've been teaching choir, preschool music, piano, and even guitar to students of all ages. I am a member of MTAC and MENC. I enjoy teaching children how to get the most expression out of their instrument, whether it be piano, voice or guitar. I also like to teach children music theory and technique, basic skills that will give them a solid foundation. I also prepare students for recitals, or any other performances they may have. I teach a varied repertoire, from classical to showtunes to jazz and folk.
