ACT Reading

I am a strong reader who is able to comprehend complex passages and help student gain understanding.

American History

Where would we be if our history were not what it was? History is the fiber of each land, and most importantly makes us who we are as a country to be reckoned with.

English

A lover of the language that holds the keys for higher learning, I have always enjoyed the fineries of this great and difficult language. I am able to quickly comprehend what is written and apply that to the context of what is going on through the whole of any passage or need of a good word to capture what is being conveyed by the writer to their audience.

European History

As a lover of history and the world, I have come to love what is happening in the world as wars and other happenings occur. I especially enjoy world war two and the remarkable recovery that was made by the European nation what it is today. Knowing and understanding this rich history also unlocks the splendor of what we have here in The United States!

General Music

I minored in Music for my degree and have sung in many choirs. I love to help others acquire a love for the fineries found in the wonderful world of music.

Literature

Great books have the power to broaden our horizons and or thoughts. I love classics that span from sea to sea and allow me to gain a better understanding of places and cultures that no longer truly exist. Gaining knowledge of the language that great writers of yesteryear used is well worth its weight in gold. I have read books by Tolstoy, Shakespear, Dickens, and many others that have heightened my awareness of the great cultures and civilizations that no longer exist and help me to better understand what we have here in America.

Music History

As a music minor and avid explorer of the history of music I have a vast knowledge of history and music. I have taken music history classes and studied the elements of the time periods and the music of some of the great such as Beethoven, Mozart, Hyden, and many more. With Theory classes and singing in choirs I have been able to experience many time periods of music and the beauty that each time period has.

Music Theory

As a lover of music and having a minor in music from Brigham Young University-Idaho, I was able to acquire great skills in the realm of music theory. There is great joy when one can understand how a piece of music works to make it special.

Reading

An avid reader who has always been in the 95% or higher in reading comprehension, I love reading books that make one think and pose a challenge to understanding. I have been able to help many others gain better comprehension skills and over all enjoyment levels when reading for leisure and for class.

Regents

As a graduate from Cicero-North Syracuse High School I have taken and passed the Regents exams required to acquire certification as a high school graduate. I was very successful in my endeavors for history scoring a 93% on the World History Regents which covered two years of course material and an 85% on the Honors Regents for American History. I also achieved passing marks on the Earth Science and Biology Regents and the English composite exam.

Vocabulary

Ever wondered why words have so much power in today's society? The more advanced our vocabulary becomes, the more we need our words that we have learned to be used. I love using ambiguous words that require thought and decision to make their symmetry come alive upon the page. Words have power let us unlock their power together!

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
