I have a passion for Statistics and Mathematics. I acquired a Masters degree in Statistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003 and a Bachelors degree in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. I was a lecturer in Statistics at California State University, Monterey Bay for one semester (Fall 2013). I also taught Business Statistics at San Jose State University for 5 years. (2005 through 2010). I already have experience tutoring Statistics, Algebra and the Math SAT. My Math SAT score was 680, and my Math GRE score was 720. I also graded Statistics homework at UC Berkeley, and I was a Graduate Student Assistant and led discussion sections in Statistics at UC Santa Barbara while pursuing my degrees.

I not only use equations and symbols to explain Statistics and Mathematics, but I also teach students to understand in common sense terms what they are calculating, and the meaning behind those equations and calculations. For instance I tell my students, "To find the average, add up all the numbers, then divide by the amount of numbers that were added up." I also use charts and graphs to explain ideas in Statistics, because that works better for some students. I created a Statistics reader for my students at San Jose State University, with use of equations, graphs and charts, verbal explanations of concepts and example problems.

Besides my interest in teaching Mathematics and Statistics, I have also been reading many books to understand more about the history of Mathematics and how it has developed and been important over time. I am also interested in logic puzzles. Mathematics is a foundation for many other disciplines such as science and engineering, and it is an important course of study.
