Algebra 1

My math learning experience comes from taking seven terms of math in college ranging from algebra to calculus. I use math in my everyday life and even for leisure, I love doing Sudoku and logic problems.

I taught math to my three children who are now in college. They also now have a love for math and feel confident in their own math skills.

I believe that math can be fun and I will teach it in a positive and optimistic manner.

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is a powerful software application that one can use to create powerful spreadsheets. I learned Excel on my own initially, but I have also had formal college level training.

Microsoft Word

I am experienced in using Microsoft Word on almost a daily basis. I learned Microsoft Word both on my own and also with formal training. The software is very powerful and a joy to learn all that it can offer in the way of tools to enhance you word processing projects.

Prealgebra

I have taken seven quarters of math in college. Understanding Prealgebra gives one a strong foundation for being successful in higher levels of math as well as managing one's financial needs in the future.

Special Needs

I have a 20 year old son who has Down Syndrome. I have spent many hours teaching him to read and to perform basic math functions. I have used flash cards and phonetic tapping methods for reading. For money and math, I have used the dollar up method for money transactions and manipulatives to aid in the learning process of addition and subtraction.

In this capacity, I bring personal experience, patience, and understanding to the student as a tutor.

If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
