I have 26 years experience in teaching and tutoring students K-12 with patience and compassion. My students have ranged in age from 4-18, held varied language abilities, and various learning disabilities. My understanding of current state standards and diverse learning styles is extensive. Incorporating methods focused upon the individual student facilitates an enthusiasm for learning. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement; a student who feels successful, becomes successful. Developing and building self-confidence is of great importance in learning; I believe it is an essential element in success. Of greatest importance is a good, trusting relationship between student, tutor, and parents. No one knows a child the way a parent knows their child; I value a parent's input on goals, lesson plans, and testing. Most of all, I love my work. Watching a student make progress and discover and develop a love of learning is awesome!
