Hi, my name is Casey. I am eighteen years old and live in Oceanside California which is north of San Diego. I am very interested in the subjects of literature, politics, religion, and history and hope to be able to tutor in these subjects. I do have extensive experience in these areas through personal study, relevant classes and applications.
For example in literature I have taken several AP and honors literature classes as well as passed a CLEP test on analyzing and interpreting literature. I have also taken several AP level and honors classes in history as well as passed two CLEP tests in the subject, specifically focusing on western civilization. In addition to these I have spent a large amount of time studying politics and religion and have even taken two college classes in religious studies, as well as passed a CLEP test in American government. I have also participated in speech and debate and know how to communicate well with people. During my time in speech and debate one of the speech categories was apologetics which required me to be able to research and defend my faith. In doing this I was able to not only expand my researching and speaking skills but also my knowledge of religion. As I have said I have a love for all the subjects I want to teach and am well read in all of them.
Although I am young I do have teaching experience and experience in working with people who are younger than me. I was a teaching assistant at a language school in Ireland and had to work with kids who were my age and younger as well as with adults. My job was to talk to them and to help and correct their English when needed. I worked with the students in groups as well as individually helping and correcting them as needed. I also used videos with some of the younger students in order to help them understand better. When it comes to teaching I try to be helpful and explain things when needed but also let the students work some things out on their own.I hope you will choose me for whatever tutoring need you have I am sure you will be pleased with my skills and talents.
