Hello. A little information about me: I was a Kinesiology major and graduated from UCLA. If you don't know what Kinesiology is, that's not unusual, as many people don't. It's anatomy and physiology or the Study of Human Movement. Many people who major in this go on to Physical Therapy School and a few go on to Medical School. I went to Daniel Freeman/UCLA Paramedic School and then worked for a major Southern California Fire Department as a Paramedic/Firefighter and then as an Inspector for a total of ten years.
Then, twenty years ago, I had a career ending accident that nearly killed me. Luckily, I survived. But, after my recovery, I could not return to firefighting. Before the injury, I taught Emergency Medical Technician courses. Since that time, I have taught courses for First Responders, EMTs and Paramedics. As such, I have a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Emergency Medical Technology. An EMT license is what basic ambulance drivers and attendants have, as well as every California Firefighter. I love to teach children and adults about almost anything. I am especially passionate about things that are science and math related. Those are the building blocks of medicine and life.
I have a simple philosophy. I operate under the premise that the only dumb question is the one that is not asked. If the student needs to ask that question multiple times, so be it. Further more, If I don't know the answer to a question, we will find it together. If we can't locate it that way, I will continuing searching, until I do find it. Then I will share it with the student.
Our purpose will be that you or your child understands the concepts. Repetition just cements that concept into the student's mind. I have been known to make sheets of problems for my students, that stress the concepts that they are having difficulty with. Our goal will be that you or your child successfully gets to where you would like them to be. That could be getting into Medical School, passing this semester's science or math class or just learning something new on the computer. To achieve this goal will be paramount. So, let's get started.
