I'm an experienced teacher with patience and a promise to help those who want to learn. I've worked in the Web and Graphic design industry for a few years and I've always loved teaching others. I'm available to help with building web pages using HTML and CSS, jQuery/Javascript or using WordPress to get you build beautiful sites in no time. I can also help you get a grasp on PhotoShop or Illustrator if you're looking to touch up photos or make a logo. I'm also an experienced Microsoft Excel teacher for those who want to ramp up their spreadsheeting skills. Or, if you're just looking for general computer language training, I'm very good at helping bridge the gap between human and machine.

In the past I've taught or helped teach design classes at the Art Institute and at AcademyX in San Francisco. I've mostly worked with college level adults in small classes of 2-10 people. I like small classes because I love to be able to work one-on-one with my students and address their specific needs and concerns. I like when my students are driven by a project or have ideas in mind of what they'd like to create. The best way to make beautiful design is via the drive to make it. The adage that design is "1% inspiration and 99% perspiration" holds true in my experience. If you want to do something great you have to work hard at it. And sometimes, to get over that hump you need some help, and that's where I come in. I can help you take your ideas and work them, step by step, into beautiful designs.

When I was younger, I worked in tech support for Lockheed Martin. Quite literally helping rocket scientists fix their computers. I've always had a knack for solving problems. I take each problem step by step. Each step making sure that I am getting the best possible answer. This has translated into making me a great teacher, when people struggle with problems I can help them break the problem down into small steps to get the best possible answer. I'm very easy to work with, and talk to, very communicative and understanding, and I'm willing to put in the time it takes to help you really learn something even if it appears impossible.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Graphic Design

I have been doing graphic design professionally and as a hobby for over 5 years. I am certified from City College San Francisco with a Digital Art Certificate. I have professional experience preparing graphics for logos, business cards, info graphics and web sites. I love to teach, while I have not taught a graphic design specific class, I've taught WordPress classes as well as Excel classes professionally.

Microsoft Excel

At my company, I taught the beginning and advanced Microsoft Excel courses. In the basic training we would go over SUMS, SUMIFS, COUNT, CONTIFS and of course the enigmatic and very useful VLOOKUP. In the more advanced we'd get into advanced data structure like using boolean logic and recording macros to speed up processing time. At the time, I was teaching from the Office '97 up to the 2003 version of Excel.

Web Design

I have been doing web design professionally for about 3 years. I am certified from City College San Francisco with a Digital Art Certificate. My professional experience with web design includes mostly work with WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery and PHP. I have worked both on the front an backend of websites (graphics and coding). I have taught advanced WordPress classes with AcademyX in San Francisco.
