I am an experienced tutor with a PhD from UC Berkeley and an array of teaching and tutoring experience. I have a wide range of knowledge in various subjects in the Humanities and Social Sciences, and am a published scholar.

Anthropology

I have a PhD in Ethnomusicology, a field that is often described as the Anthropology of Music. I have extensive experience in diverse research methods and analysis, particularly the primary anthropological method of ethnography. I am also a published scholar.

Composition (Music)

I have a PhD in Music from UC Berkeley. Although my main area is music history and Latin American and American popular musics, I studied basic composition at Columbia University while completing my BA in Music. I also have ample experience teaching music theory and musicianship at the college level.

Ear Training

I have a PhD in Music from UC Berkeley. I have taught ear-training/sight-singing courses as the principal instructor at UC Berkeley. I am also a trained singer.

General Music

I have a PhD in Music from UC Berkeley. I have knowledge about a wide range of musical practices, from classical to Afro-Cuban music. I also have extensive experience teaching music at the college level.

Macintosh

I have been a Macintosh user for over 20 years - it has always been my OS of choice. I have written a 300-page dissertation on a Mac, and have used various other programs for the Mac OS, including spreadsheet, internet, mail, iPhoto, iTunes and others. In sum I am an expert Mac user.
