Hello!
My name is Molly and I would like to introduce myself.
I am a CELTA certified English as a second language teacher. I have been teaching ESL for more than 13 years now. More than nine of those years were spent living and teaching in Rome, Italy. I moved back to the USA in 2008 and have taught at private ESL language schools in both San Francisco and Berkeley. Through out my teaching career I have taught all levels, all ages and people of all nationalities. I have had small groups of very young children in Italy, gone daily to multinational companies to teach business professionals and had groups of 15 or more ESL students in classroom settings. In the summer of 2012 I spent seven weeks teaching at Manhattan College in the Bronx, New York. This was a young learners ESL summer abroad course. I taught teenagers from Russia, Spain and Italy. Teaching in all these various settings has made me a very versatile teacher, which I believe is fundamental in ESL.
I use many different methods to engage my students; the approach I would use with a young child would differ greatly from the method I would use with an adult business person. I often incorporate music, film, games and current affairs in my lessons. I would be happy to explain, in detail, to potential clients what my methods are, but the truth is I tailor my lessons based on the needs of each individual client. I listen and understand students' needs and interests. The feedback I have received my students has been outstanding. "Enthusiasm, patience and a passion for teaching" is a phrase both my students and employers have used to describe me.
I am one of those lucky people who can truly say, " I love my job!" I look forward to the opportunity of having you as my student.
All the best,
Molly
