Lisa R. has been active as an artist on the West Coast for over 30 years and an Oakland resident for over 20 of them. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts - M.F.A. and B.F.A., Lisa is credentialed in California to teach adults and K-12 in graphic design, production, animation, film and TV production, computer technology, and fine art. She has served the visual and interaction design needs of companies ranging from Apple and Adobe to EDS and Medicus and Children's Television Workshop. She developed and taught a program in multimedia for the Los Angeles Bowers Museum and for Apple Computer's first computer lab dedicated to the education and support of non-profits in Los Angeles.
Her work is informed by experience in music - both performance and composition - and dance. She has trained and worked with artists including Mia Slavenska, Bella Lewitzky, Anthony Braxton, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and received a Fulbright for work in ethnomusicology.
