I am a special education teacher with three years of experience teaching my own class and seven years of experience working in the special education field. I currently teach a moderate to severe transition class for young adults aged 18-22 who live with moderate to severe disabilities. I have worked with students who have special needs in all grade levels from kindergarten through college.
I am proficient in ABA and have been trained extensively on positive behavior supports. Having worked in a behavior intervention clinic for two years, I have extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals who are impacted by ASD. I’ve also worked with students who live with a wide range of other disabilities, from mild to severe. Prior to this, I worked as a private tutor and as an SAT preparation teacher. I have a wide range of tools that I use to teach students, everything from math and English to social skills and life skills.
I would be happy to provide a list of references and letters of recommendation upon request. I can also provide a professional portfolio with examples of materials and systems that I have created. In addition to this, I also have a B.A. and an M.F.A. in writing and I have won multiple awards for my writing.
