Elisa speaks five languages and has a Ph.D. in History from Brown University. She has worked and studied in three different continents. She taught or served as teaching assistant for history classes at community college and Brown University. Elisa also spent a year teaching high school students with learning differences in Marin County. She has been tutoring students with disabilities, helping prepare high schoolers for the SAT, and tutoring immigrants in ESL for more than four total years.
Elisa feels strongly that good teaching requires responsiveness to individual student needs. An expert in history, she is also an excellent writing tutor, handy at helping with college essays, and enjoys teaching algebra and analytical skills.
Reading and cooking are important to Elisa, who is passionate about organic farming. She also loves the outdoors, and backpacked part of the Appalachian Trail as her post-dissertation trip. She bikes and does yoga regularly.
