I am currently going through my last math classes with my University, and I was having a lot of trouble in Algebra. Now that I have been working with Denise, my outlook on Algebra has been a lot different, I'm not as scared as I used to be. Denise is very patient and fun to work with. She walks through every topic, from beginning to end to ensure that I understand. If I happen to miss something, she is happy to go over it again and again, until I am 100% confident that I can perform the equation after she leaves :)

The first 2-3 sessions with Denise were great, and then one Sunday she cancelled at the very last minute for a medical reason. This left our son hanging, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. The following Sunday she was a complete no-show. There was no phone call, text or email until five days later due to an emergency medical condition where she apparently had no internet access or contact information available. She reportedly has taken steps to be able to contact clients ASAP if this type of situation occurs again. I don't mean to kick someone when they are down, but if you are looking for reliability, I'd beware of this tutor for now. She has outstanding reviews, but it seems something is amiss. She really let our son down when there is a lot riding on his performance in this class.

We LOVED Denise with our Kindergarten girl. She was very patient, had creative ideas to learn addition and subtraction, and was so thoughtful and sweet at the end of our two weeks. My daughter was tutored by Denise specifically for the TEAS test. TEAS tutors are extremely difficult to find so we were thrilled to have found Denise. Denise and my daughter concentrated on her weaker areas of study once that was determined. Denise made more material available for study. Denise very much helped her "learn" to take the test. My daughter scored very well on her TEAS which she took shortly after the tutoring ended. Communication was easy with Denise. She also made it so that she and and my daughter could travel to SF to meet since they were both living in different locations. Overall my daughter learned a lot, enjoyed her tutoring, and did well. Denise is intelligent, able to communicate well, and mostly - able to teach well. Thank you for a good experience.

Denise is a truly wonderful tutor. I am a returning student, who hadn't done any real math in 12 years and because of that I had developed somewhat of a "math phobia." With the help, support, and guidance of Denise I have been able to slowly gain confidence, bring back lost skills, and learn new ones. She has a patient and calming demeanor which I find to be very important when tackling a tough task. She works through each math problem with you in a clear and straightforward manner, making it all that much easier to understand. She is always reachable, which is just another added bonus. I would highly recommend her if you need help and want to succeed!

Denise was my tutor to help me prepare for the Teas Test and she was a great help! I had already taken the Teas test once and failed so I asked Denise for help tutoring. She always came prepared for our meeting with worksheets that she would make to help me specifically on areas I needed more help. After only 5 tutoring sessions with Denise I was able to pass the Teas test! I would definitely recommend Denise as a tutor!

As an adult student, coming back to school after many years was intimidating. Algebra was even more intimidating and I was taking an online course without much guidance. I had worked for almost 6 hours on a set of problems that Denise helped me figure out in less than one hour. She explained things clearly and caught the areas I was making mistakes in. Wonderful tutor, I will definitely call again as needed.

She was very friendly and competent, but just didn't show up for 2 lessons! Didn't call. Didn't email. I should have known better, since she missed an earlier lesson (without calling or emailing, but explained it away with what seemed to be a reasonable excuse). And when I contacted her by phone this evening to see if she was on her way, she really didn't seem to care!

Actually, I was quite horrified that Robin had not received my email about a family medical emergency that had me out of town. I accept full responsibility for the situation, as I learned earlier that there is a delay in the wyzant email system. I did not have Robin's phone number, so any communication was through the wyzant server. I should have had her contact number.
I did offer to hold a skype session since I was not in town, but I completely understand her frustration with me. I did have a flat tire three weeks previously and she did not receive notice until later in the evening of the appointment. Again, I should have had her phone number available.

Denise has tutored me in chemistry and I have found her to be phenomenal. I primarily needed help in order to do well on a midterm and in less than a week she has me feeling fully confident that I will excel. She has always come to our sessions on time and exceptionally prepared. She is very knowledgeable and definitely more than competent in her fields (although I can only speak for chemistry). Her confidence in what she does makes me confident in what I'm trying to do. She provides outside resources and uses her own time (outside) of sessions to make sure that that you will receive the best help possible. She is very kind and friendly. She is easy to talk to and her teaching methods are easy to follow. She breaks down the material in a way that makes it easy to comprehend and remember for future use. She helps me through problems step by step and gets me to use my knowledge to arrive at the right answer, in that way I feel as though I am actually learning and not just being told the answer. She explains everything very thoroughly and is very encouraging to questions. She's also very patient, which worked out very well for me since I essentially knew nothing about chemistry and I now feel fully prepared for a college level exam. I enjoy my sessions with Denise very much because not only is she a fantastic tutor, but she is also a wonderful woman and her company is always most enjoyable.
