Hello!
My name is Elena and I am excited to help you develop your skills in Writing, Reading, Sociology, History and other subjects! My tutoring styles utilizes tools- such as index cards, markers and board work, colored highlighters and sticky notes- in order to help you develop the study skills so that you don't only master the content, but also develop as a successful student.
I currently work as an instructor at San Francisco State University, where I teach Ethnic Studies and as a tutor for College Track, a non-profit organization that helps first-generation and under-prepared students get into college and have success once they attend. In both of these capacities, I work with a diverse group of students in subjects ranging from Ethnic Studies, Literature, History, Political Science, English, Sociology, and Language Arts. Previously, I was a Reading, Writing and Study Skills Tutor at San Francisco State University where I accumulated more than 500 hours of tutoring experience. I also developed and taught Three different Writing Workshops.
