I am a 25 year veteran of teaching English grammar, literature, speech, and composition. Fortunately, I have a very fine education and have traveled extensively.

In 1972, I had already completed a B.A. degree in English literature from the University of California at Berkeley. In 1992, while raising my own kids, I received my K-12th grade teaching credential in bilingual education from Sonoma State University.

My first contract was a room of 33 students who spoke 5 different languages that spanned grades 3rd, 4th and 5th. I also have a very recent 2008 TEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language to children and adults.

I have written three books. One of these books is about my own great grandmother who lived until she was 103 yrs of age. Another book is about my life in Spain. And the third book is a health book for teenagers.

My own children have graduated and possess excellent reading, writing and speaking skills in the English language. My son has taught English in Poland, and speaks 4 languages fluently. He graduated from S.F. State University in Urban Planning.

If you want to enter a college and need specific tutoring to pass your tests in the reading and writing section, I am very qualified to help you achieve your goals. If you are composing or writing theme essays on any subject, I am qualified to help make these essays interesting, brilliant and engaging.

My style of teaching is very important. Unless you enjoy what you are doing and how you are learning it might be difficult for both of us. I enjoy teaching and I know how to make learning fun and exciting. I will make the English language interesting. Your pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation and grammar will improve dramatically. I will help you with texts, books, drama, theater scripts, plays and business presentations to reach your audience in an engaging way.

I lived in Spain and taught there for 5 years. I have already taught within Marin, Sonoma, San Francisco and West Marin counties in Northern California. I have an international point of view and will bring a world of learning to you.

Ear Training

I sing with a guitarist. As I have been singing for over 35 years and studied Sofeggio, (Sofeo) in Sevilla, Spain, my friends and I are lucky to have many Spanish guitarists around, who can accompany for both English/Spanish songs but also for Brazilian music. I play the piano. My studies included, Clementi Sonatinas, jazz standards, improvisation,
sight reading, solfeggio in Spain and holiday music. I can read all sheet music, and teach

Ballroom Dancing

Since I was eleven years old I have had ballroom dancing as a hobby. My favorites are the
latin dances. All through college I taught dance to augment my income. When I lived in
Spain I taught ballroom dance as well. My students' favorite were: Cha Cha Cha, foxtrot,
