Background:
I am a very qualified, patient, ambitious, eager young man looking to tutor young students of the K-12 age, who are determined to move forward with their endeavors in life. As an undergraduate at Western Michigan University, I have worked as a First Year Experience Student co-facilitator in the Haworth College of Business, assisting a professor to not only teach a first-year experience program class, but also to mentor and tutor the students as they learned about university life. I learned greatly how to interact with students both in-class, and out of class through email and cell phone. Furthermore, this past summer, I went to one of my old elementary schools and gave a lecture to 3rd graders about the dangers of smoking and how to be anti-tobacco. The class was one that was led by my 4th grade teacher from 12 years ago. The students greatly enjoyed my lecture, learned a great deal, and I was praised by my teacher. I have great knowledge in basic math, business and marketing, Spanish, and history. I would absolutely cherish the opportunity to help young students learn.
Availability:
I am available in the Kalamazoo, MI area starting in early May 2013, and can tutor all through the summer, while students are home, as well as for the entire 2013-2014 school year starting in August/September.
Career ambitions:
My dream is to become a working professional actor and comedian. However, I understand I must work hard before coming to that goal, and that it will not be easy, and also that it will require time and patience. I believe that I have tremendous people skills; working with others is something that I have always enjoyed.
