My name is JP S., or you can call me Johnpaul, I am originally from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, which is on the west coast of Africa. I attended elementary school, middle school, and high school in Irvine, CA. I played Football, and ran track during high school. I also participated in the Boy Scouts of America program. I recently graduated from California State University Northridge (December 2012). During my undergraduate career I conducted independent microbiology research under the supervision of Dr. Michael Summers. In Dr. Michael L. Summers' lab my individual project was to investigate the function of a gene Npf1453 a transcriptional regulator in Nostoc punctiforme (oxygenic phototrophic cyanobacterium). I also founded and participated in CSUN Men's Rugby Club, and I also joined a fraternity called Beta Gamma Nu. In my spare time I like to go hiking, biking, workout, and brew my own beer.
