Singing:
In a relatively brief career, Elisa (soprano) already garnered praise for her performances of leading roles such as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Lauretta and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and the title role in Massenet's Cendrillon, the Mother in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors with San Diego Ecumenical Opera, and most recently Donna Elvira in Opera Academy of California's Don Giovanni. Elisa created the role of Elisa McBride in the original non-boring opera Zombie Apoco-Lips: The Opera with OperaWorks summer of 2011. She has also been the soprano soloist in many concert and oratorio works including Händel's Messiah, Beethoven's Choral Fantasie, Brahms's Requiem, C.P.E. Bach's Magnificat, Respighi's Laud to the Nativity, Fauré's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and most recently Mozart’s Spatzenmesse and Regina Coeli.
Elisa has been awarded the T. Davis Cunningham Memorial Encouragement Award for the San Diego District Metropolitan Opera National Council audition in 2010, the Virginia Hawk Memorial Scholarship, and is the winner of the 2009 California Woman’s Chorus Scholarship Competition, as well as the 2010 and 2011 La Jolla Symphony Young Artist Competition. She has also participated as an Apprentice in the 2009 SongFest Summer Program for Singers, Advanced Artist in 2011 OperaWorks Program, and Advanced Artist in Yefim Maizel’s Opera Academy of California 2012. Elisa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego and currently resides in the Los Angeles area.
Yoga:
Vinyasa Yoga is a a style of yoga that links breath with postures to encourage a graceful, heat building practice. Classes begin with stretching, and Sun Salutations. The Ujjayi breath will be introduced and used as the primary breath throughout class to energize your body, increase lung capacity, and to calm and focus your mind.
Classes can be tailored to meet your needs, ranging from beginner to advanced, and also focus on specific areas of the body or meaningful topics. Classes are 75 minutes. Elisa is Yoga Alliance Certified, and received her 200 hour certification in Power Yoga from CorePower Yoga in San Diego 2012.
