Hi there. Thank you for stopping by to see me. I want to let you know that, if you want to make all of your classes go easier, I am here to show you how. I have developed a way to teach you how to learn with more ease. So you spend less time worrying and fighting the assignments and more time enjoying what you’re learning and more free time to do other important things. My system has taken me 25 years of teaching to develop. I had to observe carefully what works with students as applied within the various subjects, I have successfully taught hundreds of students, both here and overseas. I am committed to giving my students the best tutoring. I believe there is more than one way to explain math concepts so that if a student doesn't grasp the way it is presented in class, I can find an alternate way of explaining it. Math can be fun!

I am also a student again myself as a senior math major at CSUN with references from five of my professors. So I know clearly what you experience on the "students side" of the classroom. I will add my math degree to my computer science degree, which I have also taught with great success both here and abroad. Even some of my fellow classmates come to me with many things they don’t understand, and I enjoy helping them too.

I am available to teach all grades up to university sophomore. If we don’t make a good match, there will be no charge for the first session. Let’s meet!

Please contact me for group study.

The ACT Math section covers a wider variety of math concepts than are tested in the SAT Math section. However, the way the questions are asked tends to be a bit more straightforward on the ACT.

The number of different math concepts that are tested in the ACT Math section is limited, yet there are almost unlimited ways that the test can ask students questions about those concepts. The important concepts in ACT are arithmetic, algebra, and geometry that comprise the test questions. Another important fact is how to translate a word question to a mathematical equation. I help students to refresh their memory on these concepts.

Actuarial science is the discipline that applies mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in insurance, finance and other industries and professions. Actuaries are professionals who are qualified in this field through education and experience.

Actuarial science includes a number of interrelating subjects, including probability, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, financial economics, and computer programming.

I have taken all calculus classes in university including Calculus III (Math 250) and advanced calculus (Math 350) at California State University (CSUN) and passed them with grade A, and I tutored a few of my classmates during the semester.

I have been playing chess since 1971 when I was nine years old. I got a gold medal in a chess tournament in the city I was living in Iran. I was a member of chess team all my high school years. It happened that I played twice with a gold medalist of Torrance and I won both time. I play chess online on a daily basis.

I have taken Differential Equations Math 280 at California State University (CSUN) and passed it with grade A, and I tutored a few of my classmates during the semester.

I have taken Discrete Math classes in California State University (CSUN) like Transition to higher Math (Math 320) covering logic, proving, set theory and probability (Math 340) about district probability and statistics and have passed both with grade A. Discrete mathematics is the study of mathematical structures that are fundamentally discrete rather than continuous. In contrast to real numbers that have the property of varying "smoothly", the objects studied in discrete mathematics – such as integers, graphs, and statements in logic – do not vary smoothly in this way, but have distinct, separated values. Discrete mathematics therefore excludes topics in "continuous mathematics" such as calculus and analysis.

I have been born, raised and educated in Iran so my first and native language is Farsi (Persian). I can fluently speak and write in Farsi and I have lived in United States for more than 20 years.

I have been a computer consultant for more than 20 years and I have trained many of my clients.

3D Coordinates ( In Space), Area, Surface Area & Volume, Classifying Triangles & Triangle Inequalities, Graphing Linear Equations, Loci and Transformations, Parallels & Transversals, Points, Lines, Angles & Planes, Polygons, Quadrilaterals, Reasoning and Proofs, Right Triangles, Vectors and more.

I have taken linear algebra Math 262 in California State University (CSUN) and passed it with grade A, and I tutored few of my classmates during the semester.

I have taken Physics courses in the university overseas and passed them all with grade A, and I tutored a few of my classmates during the semester. The Physics courses that I have taken have been accepted in the California State University (CSUN) as:

Physics 100A/AL and 100B/BL - General Physics I and II, a non-calculus based introductory physics sequence and their associated laboratories.

Physics 220A/AL and 220B/BL - Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, a calculus based introductory physics sequence and their associated laboratories intended for engineering majors.

The objective of pre-algebra is to prepare the student for the study of algebra.

Pre-algebra includes several broad subjects:

* Review of natural number arithmetic

* New types of numbers such as integers, fractions, decimals and negative numbers

* Factorization of natural numbers

* Properties of operations such as associativity and distributivity

* Simple (integer) roots and powers

* Rules of evaluation of expressions, such as operator precedence and use of parentheses

* Basics of equations, including rules for invariant manipulation of equations

* Understanding of variable manipulation

* Manipulation and arithmetic with the standard 4-quadrant Cartesian coordinate plane

Pre-algebra may include subjects from geometry, especially subjects that further understanding of algebra in applications to area and volume.

I have tutored many students. Some of the topics in precalculus are:

The slope of a Line, Linear Equations, Parallel and Perpendicular Lines, Applications of Lines and Slopes. The Definition of a Function, Evaluating a Function, Domain and Range. Evaluating a Function, Average Rate of Change, Even and Odd Functions. Arithmetic Combinations, Function Composition, Inverse Functions.

Shifting Graphs, Stretching, Compressing and Reflecting Graphs. The Graph of a Quadratic Function, Finding a Quadratic Function, Finding the Vertex, Optimizing Quadratic Functions. Introduction to Polynomial Functions and Their Graphs, The Real Zeros of a Polynomial Function, Polynomial Division, The Rational Zero Theorem, Complex Numbers, The Fundamental Theorem of Algebra.

Questions on SAT II Subject Test in Math, Level 1 or Level 2 are similar in style to the regular SAT Math questions, but they also include more advanced topics in math.

I am well versed in the following:

Angles,Arcs and Sectors, Complex Number Conjugates, Complex Numbers, Conic Sections, Ratio and Proportion, Definition of the Trigonometric Functions of an Acute angle, Trigonometry of Right Triangles, The Isosceles right Triangle, The 30-60-90 Degree Triangle, Solving Right Triangles, The law of Cosines, The Law of sins, the Circle, The Definition of PI and Evaluating it, The area of a Circle (The Method of Rearranging), Angles and Their Measurements, Radian Measure, Arc Length, Analytic Trigonometry, The Unit Circle, Trigonometric Functions of Any Angle, The Line Values of sin (x), cos(x), tan(x), cot(x), Graph of The Trigonometric Functions, Zeros of a function, Inverse Trigonometric Functions (arcsin(x), arcos(x), arctan(x), arccot(x), arcsec(x), arccsc(x)), Trigonometric Identities (Reciprocal Identities, Tangent and Cotangent Identities, Pythagorean Identities, Sum and Difference formulas, Double Angle Formulas, Half-angle Formulas, Products as sum, Sums as Product.) and more.

Great tutor! His explanation is easy to understand! — Nick is great. Very patient and makes things easy to understand. He is teaching me Calculus I (Math 150 A & B) at CSUN. I wish he was my teacher at school, I know I would not need a tutor. I am going to see him again as soon as I find out my test schedule. ...
